Independent designer specialising in building brand identities and harmonising the visual outlets.
A collection of Limited-edition and one-of-a-kind contemporary handmade rugs and wall tapestries was first launched in a solo exhibition in Amsterdam by Salma Barakat under the brand “ba” (ba-atelier.com). These designs are mainly inspired by the artist’s original collages and executed into flatweave wool and cotton floor rugs and tapestries, in Egyptian villages, as a socially conscious venture. The BA studio is currently based in Athens.
projects include designs for soft furnishing/bedspreads and blankets for Ace Hotel, Athens, and a book design for 'Eureka! Essays from The Book and the Drum'
